When a Tiny Steampunk Bee Took Flight on TikTok  🐝

I still can’t quite believe it. My tiny light-up bee has officially gone viral on TikTok! At the last count, the video has over 250,000 likes, almost a million views and more than 1000 comments. It’s overwhelming in the best possible way.

When I first posted the video, I thought it might get a few kind comments from fellow makers and steampunk lovers. Instead, it’s been buzzing (pun absolutely intended) with excitement from people all over the world. The comments section has turned into this incredible hive of positivity, curiosity and support.

Most of the messages are people asking where they can buy the bee, and honestly, I’ve felt this huge pull to respond to every single one. Each comment feels like a little spark of connection and I’m so grateful that people have taken the time to write something kind.

But here’s the truth - going viral is both thrilling and a little bit overwhelming. Suddenly, there are hundreds of people discovering your work all at once, and it’s easy to feel like you have to keep up with every message, every like, every share. I’ve been reminding myself to take a breath, enjoy the moment and remember that this is what I’ve been working towards - people discovering and loving my creations.

Going viral is exciting, but I won’t be losing my head over it! The attention feels amazing in the moment, but it’s not permanent and chasing that next viral post can be a huge distraction.

Instead, I’m focusing on consistency and connection. I used to post once a week on TikTok, but now I’ve committed to posting twice a week, sharing more of what people genuinely enjoy and engage with. It’s not about the quick wins anymore, it’s about building something steady and meaningful over time.

The Luminous Mechanica collection, which the bee belongs to, launched officially yesterday, with special early access for subscribers on Thursday. It’s a collection that combines stainless steel, glass, and light, celebrating the beauty of mechanical life in miniature form. The viral bee has become the unexpected star of the show, and I couldn’t be more excited to share the rest of the collection with you.

If you’ve been one of the lovely people who liked, commented, or shared the video - thank you. You’ve helped a tiny glowing bee find its wings.
