My steampunk jewellery and sculptures are influenced by the sub-genre of science fiction with its prominent elements of fictional technological inventions. I particularly like the evocative design and outlook of the neo-victorian style. The look and technology of the Victorian era sitting alongside impossible machinery or fantastic creatures is inspiring. I use vintage and antique clock and watch parts, movements and cogs for my creations, along with vintaj brass and sterling silver charms, chains and findings.
This brooch is inspired by Arcane. The butterfly has wire wound brass cut out wings. the body is stainless steel and teal glass. Hidden inside the glass body is a tiny hole designed to hold your favourite perfume. Add a drop, and as you wear it, the scent gently releases throughout the day. Comes with a syringe for easy filling.
The brooch measures approximately 3.5 cm in length and 3 cm in diameter, fastening securely with brass crocodile hair clip. The light is powered by three SR621SW button batteries, neatly housed within the metal casing, and activated by turning the jump ring on the ‘head’.
