SAVE THE BEES | Handcrafted Steampunk Bumblebee Sculpture

from £39.95

Imagination meets invention with this Steampunk Bumblebee Sculpture, a piece inspired by the neo-Victorian sub-genre of science fiction. Drawing on the elegance of the Victorian era and the intrigue of fantastical machinery, this artwork captures the essence of steampunk design.

Each sculpture is handcrafted using vintage watch parts and repurposed vintage lightbulbs, finished with brass fastenings, while delicate acetate wings and wire-wound legs bring this tiny mechanical creature to life.

Length of sculpture - approx 13cm. Wing attachments may vary to those pictured.

Choose from stand alone sculpture or with round cloche display with dark wood base.

10% of profits from this sale will be donated to The Bumblebee Conservation Trust via Work For Good.

Sadly, our bumblebees are in decline because of changes in agricultural practices that have largely removed flowers from the landscape, leaving the bumblebees with little to feed upon. Most UK species have declined greatly in recent years, and two have become extinct in the UK since 1940.

Fortunately, there is much that can be done to benefit bumblebees. At the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, they work to raise awareness of the plight of the bumblebee amongst the general public. In particular, they provide information about bumblebees and work with farmers to help them farm in ways which are sympathetic to bees.
